If a nursing home hires you, it must reimburse your tuition
Minnesota law (Minn. Stat. § 144A.611) requires a certified nursing home or boarding care home that hires you as a nurse aide to reimburse your actual tuition, textbook and testing costs. It's owed 90 days after your hire date, or when you finish the program — whichever is later. Keep your receipts; once you're enrolled we help you assemble them.
⚠️ A job at a hospital, clinic, assisted living facility, home-care agency or staffing agency does not count — it has to be a certified nursing home or boarding care home.
What's included
- All classroom instruction (the required 75 hours)
- Supervised skills lab and clinical placement
- Required textbook and learning materials
- Skills-test practice and written-exam prep
- Help registering for the state competency exam
Tuition does not include the state competency exam fee charged by Headmaster (D&S Diversified Technologies), or the cost of any required immunizations or background check. We do not guarantee certification, exam passage, or employment. Reimbursement is owed by your employer, not by us — we help you document what you paid, but we can't pay or enforce a claim.
